In a surprising crossover event that breaks conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Uncovered

According to the authorized release, "A strange confrontation leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of prohibited practices and terrifying metamorphoses resonate through the darkness." The narrative presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden cult.

The questline concentrates on "peculiar trials and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Familiar Places and Metamorphoses

The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer concludes with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Bonus Material

Players who finish the mission will receive an exclusive katana alongside several objects secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

• Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
• Mikasa attire for Naoe
• Special weapons
• Survey Corps vehicle

Third Free Story Update

This update also adds the game's latest no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic techniques: Naoe debuts a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may finally explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.

Previous Japanese Animation Crossovers

This represents scarcely the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with popular anime series. The series previously featured a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla unofficially featured a quest that clearly echoed the popular series One-Punch Man.
